Actor. Director. Teacher. Host. Is there anything that Frank Caiati doesn’t do? The Best Of Everything New York (TBOENY) dove into the mind of this one man, tour de force and guess what we found? Absolutely “Nothing.”
When you meet Frank Caiati, it is hard not to be taken in by his charm. It’s no wonder that crowds flock to see him in productions by the renowned Rockaway Theatre Company, where he currently sits on the board of directors. It’s been a lifelong journey through the arts for this native Brooklynite. An early fascination with magic and set design led to acting roles in high school and college. While beginning his post-grad career he landed stints on hits like Ugly Betty and Gossip Girl, but his true love of theater brought him back to the stage.
Frank’s latest endeavor has him hosting a new hit podcast, The Nothing Podcast With Nobody Important. with fellow cohost John Panepinto. The podcast takes us into the clever minds of two hysterical entertainers as they interview amazing New Yorkers who turn out to be “nobodies,” just like them. One recent “nobody” was broadway superstar Andrew Barth Feldman, hot on the heals of his star turn as the lead in Dear Even Hanson.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Frank has taken his acting courses online. Anyone wanting to further their improv skills, scene study, or monologue prep are encouraged to sign up for classes. Why not learn a new skill while stuck at home? Kids classes are available as well which will be welcome news to parents in the New York area! Frank’s positivity has remained intact during the tough year that has been 2020. Mostly because his favorite pizza place delivers, but also because he knows that the arts will always come back after a crisis.
Some of Frank’s faves:
Best New York Pizza: L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn. Doughy goodness, soft, and saucy.
Best New York Bar: Matter Bar in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Creative drinks in a relaxed, intimate setting.
Best New York Bagel: Russ & Daughters in the East Village. Bagel with Lox is recommended.
